Third-person survival RPG Hello Sunshine has released a new trailer, offering a closer look at its core gameplay systems and environmental design. The game is currently planned to launch on PC in 2026, with development ongoing. Details regarding the developer remain undisclosed at this stage.

Set in a hostile wasteland shaped by extreme heat, radiation, and automated war machines, Hello Sunshine places an emphasis on environmental survival, resource management, and cooperation between player and machine.

Survival Built Around Light, Shadow, and Movement

Daytime survival in Hello Sunshine revolves around managing exposure to intense sunlight and radiation. Players must travel alongside a massive walking war machine, using its shadow as protection. Remaining in shade is essential, while venturing deeper into exposed terrain offers higher rewards at increased risk.

The robot sets the pace of travel, transforming movement itself into a strategic element. Progress depends on staying close, planning routes carefully, and knowing when to push forward or retreat.

Freezing Nights and Camp-Based Progression

When night falls, environmental conditions shift dramatically. Temperatures drop, forcing players to stay close to the robot as it recharges at Sunshine Service Stations. Nighttime is dedicated to camp-based activities, including cooking, crafting equipment, repairing the robot, and preparing for the next day’s journey.

These shifts between day and night form a consistent survival loop, requiring players to balance exploration with preparation.

A Mobile Base and Customizable Companion

The wandering robot functions as both protector and mobile base. Players can repair, upgrade, and customize it with new systems, defensive components, and cosmetic options such as decals and paint.

As the journey progresses, interaction deepens the relationship between player and machine. The robot gradually unlocks new capabilities, assisting with navigation, combat, obstacle traversal, and protection against hostile machines.

Progression is driven by scavenging and crafting. Players gather resources from supply drops, storage units, abandoned settlements, and fallen war machines. At night, loot can be processed using Sunshine Recyclers to produce materials for crafting tools, weapons, and gear.
