1000xRESIST is a thriller set in a dystopian future where humanity has been wiped out by a disease spread by an alien race known as the "Occupants." The sole survivor is a teenage girl named Iris, who is immune and immortal.

The trailer showcases characters with different colors and symbolic concepts. It also features scenes of various styles, including futuristic, modern city, ruins, campus, and fantasy, setting the stage for the story's development.

In 1000xRESIST, players will experience a complex story covering themes of identity, racism, and intergenerational trauma. The narrative includes twists and elements of psychological horror, shifting between third-person and first-person gameplay and incorporating visual novel storytelling. The game offers over 10 hours of playtime, featuring fully voiced dialogue from a cast of Asian-Canadian actors and a soundtrack from two composers.

The new trailer coincides with three Independent Game Festival 2024 award nominations: Excellence in Narrative, the Nuovo Award, and the Seamus McNally Grand Prize. 1000xRESIST draws inspiration from various sources, including the games of Yoko Taro (NieR: Automata), the anime of Hideaki Anno (Evangelion) and Satoshi Kon (Paprika), and the theater of Robert Wilson (Einstein on the Beach). It aims to deliver a unique storytelling experience while incorporating ideas from theater, dance, performance art, and cinema.
