Memory Detective: Akira, a deck-building roguelike game influenced by "VA-11 Hall-A Valhalla," is currently in development.

The game's itch.io store page has been launched, and the developer said the game is in alpha. The version is expected to be released soon, and early access is scheduled to start in 2024.

About game

Enter the dystopian world of "Memory Detective: Akira" in 2142 A.D. Take on the role of M.D. Agent Akira, wielding unique memory-tracing powers to complete your most important mission: the destruction of the world.

Gameplay involves playing cards by consuming energy, which is replenished in a certain amount each turn. Victory is achieved by assessing the compatibility between the card's cost, available energy capacity, and card effects, ultimately reducing the opponent's health to zero.

According to a post by the developer on Reddit(u/Games2See), the game draws inspiration from "VA-11 Hall-A Valhalla" and the movie "Blade Runner." Judging from the released screenshots, numerous scenes evoke adventure games and visual novels, suggesting a work rich in narrative elements.

Interested readers should follow the developer's official X (formerly Twitter) account and await the release of the demo version and early access.
