Developed by Chris Cote, Welcome to Elderfield is a horror farming RPG that captures the charm of games like Stardew Valley while infusing it with chilling Lovecraftian elements. Players can now play the Alpha Demo on Steam.

Players were born in the isolated town of Elderfield, a place of eccentric locals and strange creatures lurking in the shadows. With local news reports becoming increasingly cryptic, it's clear that something is deeply wrong.

Now that you've finished your studies, you find yourself with an endless amount of free time.

You must start your own farm: learn to grow crops, raise livestock, and process artisanal goods. Cook various meals to maintain your energy, or simply find a quiet spot to spend the day fishing.

Elderfield hides many secrets. You may find yourself praying to Elder Gods for protection, conversing with the dead, or shivering under the pale moonlight as you struggle to survive the night.

Venture into forbidden lands to battle deadly creatures and bosses. Collect random loot drops to craft powerful gear and overcome even greater threats.

Explore randomly generated mines with ever-changing layouts. Spend your days as a miner, gathering resources to bring back to your farm.

Interact with the locals by giving gifts. Each resident has their own unique schedule, so you'll need to plan your visits accordingly.

Alpha Demo Info

The current Alpha Demo features one town district, the farm and ranch, the first "dungeon" (the local shopping mall), and several small areas to explore. This represents about one-sixth of the planned final game.

The full release is expected to be over three times the size and will include new features such as Elder God factions, calendar-based events, QoL improvements, and expanded content.
