Crimson Desert Is About to Launch in November 2025
In response to growing speculation about a potential November release date, developer pearl Abyss has recently broken its silence, addressing the status of it's highly anticipated open-world action-adventure title, Crimson Desert.
Since its jaw-dropping debut at the 2020 TGA Awards, where Crimson Desert amazed audiences with its vast open-world exploration, fluid combat mechanics, and breathtaking visuals, fans have been eagerly awaiting its release. Originally, the developers had set their sights on a winter 2021 launch. However, the project faced delays, with the team stating they needed "more time to polish" the game to meet player expectations. For a long time, there were no major updates until the 2023 Gamescom Opening Night in Cologne reignited excitement. A brand new trailer was revealed, introducing a high-speed combat system, improved graphics, shop interaction features, and even animal companions, offering players a deeper and more immersive gameplay experience than ever before.
The latest teaser released by TGA a few months ago confirmed that the game is scheduled to launch in late 2025. However, South Korean media outlet MTN recently claimed to have obtained internal information suggesting that the specific release date might be set for November 2. In response, Pearl Abyss firmly denied the report in a statement to Insider Gaming, saying, "I have never given an interview to MTN, nor have we disclosed a specific date to it" The developer emphasized that all official information will be announced directly by Pearl Abyss.
Crimson Desert is expected to release worldwide on PC and console platforms if everything goes as planned. While rumors have circulated that Sony tried to lock down PS5 exclusivity, Pearl Abyss ultimately chose to publish the game independently. During an investor briefing, the studio explained that leveraging its existing global distribution network and regional teams would better serve the game's long-term success. Meanwhile, a recent GameStop product listing has sparked speculation that Crimson Desert could also arrive on the upcoming Switch 2.However, this has raised concerns within the gaming community about whether the new hardware will be capable of handling the game's original visual quality, or if graphical downgrades will be necessary.
