Developer Monster Couch has released a public demo for Flamecraft ahead of its appearance in Steam Next Fest 2026. The demo became available on June 2 and will remain featured during Steam Next Fest, which runs from June 15 to June 22.

Available on Steam for Windows and Mac, the demo offers players an early opportunity to experience the game's core mechanics, world, and characters before the full release.

A Cozy Strategy Game About Dragons and Craftsmanship

Flamecraft is a turn-based strategy game designed for one to five players. Set in a colorful fantasy town, players assume the role of a Flamekeeper, working alongside artisan dragons and local shopkeepers to help businesses thrive. Gameplay centers on gathering and managing resources, enhancing shops through magical enchantments, and supporting various locations throughout the town. As players expand and improve these businesses, they gradually build their reputation and progress toward becoming a master Flamekeeper.

Meet Artisan Dragons and Explore Local Shops

The demo introduces a selection of the town's unique shops and a portion of the game's cast, including Dragon Artisans and the more unusual Fancy Dragons.

Players can explore the game's relaxed strategic systems while learning how different shops operate and how enchantments can be used to improve their effectiveness. The focus is on thoughtful decision-making rather than time pressure, emphasizing a cozy and approachable experience. A fully narrated tutorial is also included in the demo. The tutorial is voiced by tabletop gaming personality and host Becca Scott, providing newcomers with a guided introduction to the game's mechanics.

More Content Planned for the Full Release

While the demo offers a preview of the game's systems and world, Monster Couch has indicated that the full version will feature additional content, including a campaign mode with an original story.

With its blend of turn-based strategy, resource management, and charming fantasy aesthetics, Flamecraft aims to deliver a relaxing experience for players looking for a slower-paced and more welcoming approach to the strategy genre.
