How to Beat Cogwork Dancers in Hollow Knight Silksong
Watch the Silk Threads for Movement Paths
The Dancers telegraph their movements with thin silk lines. Always keep an eye on these threads so you can reposition safely before they dash.
Stay Airborne During Silk AoE
At times, the Dancers will cover most of the arena with silk. Jump to avoid the trap—then use healing or float abilities to stay in the air longer until the attack ends.
Use Thread Storm for Close Encounters
The Thread Storm ability deals wide AoE damage, making it perfect when the Dancers crowd you. You can unlock it at the statue north of Craw Lake in Greymoor.
Punish Them When They Meet in the Middle
When both Dancers dash toward the center and embrace, they’ll float for a few seconds. This is your main opportunity to deal heavy damage or unleash powerful abilities.
Lay Poison with Flea Brew or Pollip Pouch
Since their routes are predictable, you can drop poison AoEs along their paths. This allows you to chip away at their health without taking unnecessary risks.
Prepare for Phase 2 Speed-Up
In Phase 2, the Cogwork Dancers move significantly faster, making dodging more demanding. However, once one of them falls, the other slows dramatically, as if it has lost the will to fight.
Cogwork Dancers Attack Patterns
Silk Dance
The Dancers weave across the arena along silk paths. Avoid their routes to stay safe.
Meet in the Middle
They dash toward the center, create a mini circular AoE on impact, then float in place.
Silk Dance AoE
They fill the arena with silk before dashing along those paths, turning the entire floor into a hazard.
