INTERACTIVE ONTARIO SHOWCASES TRIO OF CANADIAN INDIE STUDIOS, UPCOMING GAMES AT PAX EAST
Boston, MA – May 2, 2025 – Interactive Ontario, in partnership with Indie Angels, will spotlight three Ontario-based indie studios at PAX East 2025. The initiative, part of a new pilot program, aims to amplify discoverability for Canadian developers on the global stage.
"Discoverability is critical in today’s saturated market," said Lucie Lalumière, President & CEO of Interactive Ontario. "This program equips studios with PR support to help their projects stand out and connect with the audiences they deserve."
Attendees can experience four innovative titles across three booths (#16105, #17104, #17105), including hands-on demos and developer interviews. Below are the highlights:
Little Buffalo Studios (Booth #17105)
The veteran-led team debuts Akiiwan: Survival, a PC crafting/survival adventure inspired by Indigenous knowledge spanning 10,000 years. Players uncover secrets through a mysterious talking campfire while learning ancestral techniques for enduring harsh environments. Developed with Red River Metis, Anishinaabe, and Mohawk creators, the game blends relaxed gameplay with deep cultural storytelling.

Little Guy Games (Booth #17104)
PAX East marks the first public demo for Endless Night: The Darkness Within, a psychological Metroidvania exploring trauma and fractured realities. Players navigate shifting dreamscapes as Jake, a PTSD-afflicted protagonist confronting surreal puzzles and inner demons. The hauntingly atmospheric title promises emotional depth and mind-bending challenges.

Lofty Sky Entertainment (Booth #16105)
The award-winning studio showcases two projects:
Verse VR: This multicultural VR experience transports players to eight poetic worlds inspired by global traditions, including West African villages, Chinese gardens, and settings from Khalil Gibran’s The Prophet. Pre-orders are now live on Meta Quest, with a Steam VR release planned.

Sky of Tides: Dubbed an "anti-RPG," this narrative-driven sci-fi fantasy emphasizes emotional balance over traditional skill-building. Players guide Rin D'Lorah across the planet numen9, balancing stats to unlock the true ending and an exclusive animated series (Sky of Tides: ATLA). A new demo debuts at PAX.
