Square Enix released the "Prologue Demo" for The Adventures of Elliot: The Millennium Tales on May 19, 2026. Developed by the creative team behind Octopath Traveler and Bravely Default, the title combines the studio's signature HD-2D visual style, which blends pixel art and 3DCG, with action-adventure gameplay for the first time. The Adventures of Elliot: The Millennium Tales tells a fantasy adventure set in the world of Philabieldia.
Philabieldia is a harsh land overrun by dangerous beasts. After mysterious ruins are discovered beyond the walls of Huther, humanity's last stronghold, a young adventurer named Elliot sets out on a journey together with his fairy companion, Faie. Their adventure will take them across time and through a world filled with danger.

By traveling through the Doorway of Time, players can explore four different eras:
The Age of Safekeeping, Elliot's home era
The Age of Reconstruction, where humanity struggles to survive
The Age of Magic, the peak of human prosperity
The Age of Budding, the beginning of human civilization

Elliot can wield seven different weapon types, ranging from swords for close combat to a versatile chain sickle capable of pulling enemies closer. Each weapon can be customized with magicite to match different combat styles.
Faie's fairy magic also plays an important role in both combat and puzzle-solving throughout the adventure.

To celebrate the release of the demo, Square Enix has launched a limited-time giveaway campaign. Players who follow the game's official X account and repost the designated post can enter for a chance to win Amazon gift cards and original medals. The campaign runs until May 31 at 23:59.

The company also announced a save data bonus campaign. Players with save data from Octopath Traveler 0, Dragon Quest I & II HD-2D, Bravely Default Flying Fairy HD Remaster, Everyday Variety, Triangle Strategy, or Trials of Mana 3 will receive special in-game items.
Pre-orders for both the physical and digital editions of The Adventures of Elliot: The Millennium Tales are now open on all platforms. Players who pre-order either edition will receive the Elliot's Departure Pack, which includes the Departure Brooch accessory that increases the amount of currency and magicite fragments dropped by enemies, as well as the Attack Up sword magicite.
In addition to the standard digital edition, a Digital Deluxe Edition is also available for pre-order. It includes the Fairy Bangle accessory, Cherry Blossom Anklet accessory, and Roselle Ring accessory. More details are available on the official website.
A physical Collector's Edition is available exclusively through the Square Enix Store. The set includes the base game, the original soundtrack, and a desktop clock featuring Faie.
