1047 Games Unveils Next Titanfall Sci-Fi FPS Empulse
According to an exclusive report from Insider Gaming, 1047 Games-the studio behind the Splitgate franchise-is reportedly developing a brand-new first-person shooter codenamed Empulse. The project has been described by some as a spiritual successor to Titanfall. It is currently in an extremely early pre-alpha stage, with its overall direction and content still subject to significant change, and a full reveal planned for late 2026.

Insider Gaming has viewed gameplay footage from Empulse's pre-alpha build, which showcases core mechanics in a Team Deathmatch mode. Players traverse maps at high speed using a grappling hook, wall-running, and ground-based speed pads to maintain continuous momentum.
The maps are also populated with large mechs whose designs closely resemble the Titans from Titanfall. In the demonstration, a player uses a grappling hook to swing directly into a mech's cockpit, immediately taking control. From there, they dominate the battlefield using the mech's primary weapon-a minigun-style gatling cannon.
While it remains unclear whether multiple mech classes or loadouts will be featured in the final release, the showcased unit appears to include a defensive shield system for increased survivability, along with a cooldown-based missile launcher for additional offensive capability.

For context, 1047 Games CEO Ian Proulx previously confirmed earlier this year that a small internal team was developing a movement-focused shooter inspired by Titanfall and Call of Duty: Black Ops 3. Following the failure of Splitgate 2 / Splitgate Arena to build a substantial player base, Empulse now represents a potentially critical project for the studio.
Visually and tonally, the game marks a clear departure from Splitgate's bright, arcade-style arena aesthetic, instead adopting a more muted, grounded color palette reminiscent of Ubisoft's XDefiant.
