HoverGrease 2 is scheduled to launch on Steam this Friday, May 22nd at 8 PM BST, following 8 years of development by Altergaze. The title is a high-octane hybrid that combines the arcade intensity of a twin-stick shooter with the strategic depth of a team-based hero shooter, set within a bio-cyberpunk universe.

HoverGrease 2 features a 14-chapter single-player campaign alongside a fast-paced 5v5 online multiplayer mode. The game includes 10 playable mutant characters, over 180 weapons and combat options, and 6 multiplayer maps. It also offers unlockable cosmetic items, skins, badges, and achievements. The game is Steam Deck compatible and features no pay-to-win mechanics, with all content included in the base purchase.

The world of HoverGrease is set in a bio-cyberpunk dystopian future on Earth, where humanity has unlocked many of the secrets of the human genome. It is a world largely dominated by artificial intelligence, bioengineering, and advanced biotechnology. 

In game, players can utilize 18 different weapons, equipment pieces, and enhancements available to each mutant to build four distinct loadouts, enabling a wide range of combat strategies and playstyles.

HoverGrease 2 offers five difficulty settings: Easy, Normal, Hard, Expert, and Insane. These options allow players to tailor the experience, whether they prefer a more narrative-focused playthrough or a greater challenge that tests their mechanical skills.
