On April 29, Cognosphere, the overseas publishing entity of HoYoverse, submitted a trademark application for NODUSFALL. Around the same time, Anuttacon, the AI company founded by Haoyu Cai, filed a separate trademark application for VASSAGO. The simultaneous filings have drawn attention across the industry.

Accounts with the same name have already appeared across multiple platforms and have attracted a considerable number of followers, despite not having published any content. The term "Nodus" originates from Latin and is generally interpreted as "node" or "problem", while "Fall" refers to "fall" or "collapse".

Taken together, the name is widely speculated to be the official title of HoYoverse's previously announced UE5 realistic fantasy R&D project. The project's dedicated recruitment website had previously published concept art, which indicated an art direction that differs significantly from HoYoverse's established anime-style portfolio.

In November 2025, HoYoverse's recruitment page reportedly surfaced details of a new fantasy project being developed in UE5 with a more realistic visual style. According to the job listings at the time, the project is expected to feature a large-scale open world, massive boss battles, and multiplayer gameplay elements. It is also described as the company's second UE5 title following Varsapura, and is expected to make its official debut later this year.
