According to Wargaming, World of Tanks: HEAT is a standalone project unrelated to the existing World of Tanks series. Built from the ground up using a proprietary engine, the game focuses on fast-paced armored combat and supports both cross-platform matchmaking and shared progression.

Following launch, the game will enter a five-week "Season 0." During the event period, players will be able to claim five free weekly battle passes that grant access to additional tanks and in-game rewards.

The game features eight playable agents divided into three classes: Defender, Attacker, and Sniper. Each agent is associated with two exclusive vehicles. At launch, three agents - Chopper, Kent, and Hound - are available, while the remaining characters will be introduced gradually over the course of the season.

At release, World of Tanks: HEAT includes 15 vehicles, eight maps, and four PvP game modes: Stronghold, Control, Kill Confirmed, and Conquest.
