Owlcat Games has confirmed that The Expanse: Osiris Reborn, its upcoming third-person sci-fi action RPG, will release in spring 2027 for Steam, Epic Games Store, and GOG.

The Expanse: Osiris Reborn is a story-driven action RPG set in The Expanse universe, with an emphasis on companion relationships, player-driven choices, and dynamic third-person combat. Players take on the role of a Pinkwater Security mercenary who survives a catastrophic incident on Eros and must assemble a team to confront Protogen and its experiments.

Last week, Owlcat Games revealed that more than 20,000 players had visited Pinkwater Station since the Founders beta for The Expanse: Osiris Reborn began on April 22. The studio also confirmed that it has been gathering community feedback and earlier this week published a blog post outlining several planned improvements for the game.

Owlcat Games shared several gameplay statistics from the beta, revealing that more than 21,000 players have collectively accumulated an estimated 2.5 years of playtime so far, including 125 days spent exploring open space. Officer proved to be the most popular specialization, chosen by more than 60% of players over Hacker. The beta also saw players fire more than 60 million bullets, including roughly 2.8 million successful headshots, leaving over 380,000 bodies drifting through space.

The beta remains accessible to players who purchase Miller's Pack or the Collector's Edition through the official website, allowing them to experience the game's space combat, which has been positively received by both media and the community. The beta will remain open until the game's launch.

The game has received positive feedback from both players and press for its atmosphere, third-person shooter gameplay, and impressive space combat. At the same time, several areas have been flagged for improvement. Among them, the voice performances for the male protagonist and his brother drew criticism from players, leading the team to seek new voice actors for both roles. Other planned updates include changes to combat, animations, tone, and additional systems.
